Kitchens are a huge part of every home, yet many of them are underutilised. In the main, we only tend to use them for food prep, cooking and storage.
So, when the client decided to upgrade her kitchen space, her main aim was to create a practical, functional, space that her whole family could use on a more regular basis.
The original kitchen was dark, overcrowded and cluttered. There was limited storage space and the dog’s sleeping area took up a massive amount of space. Although the dining table could be accessed in the adjacent room, there was just too much space between the preparation area and the seating area to encourage any sort of social interaction whilst mum prepared meals.
So, to open up the kitchen and dining room, we knocked out one of the internal walls and added a patio door to help bring more natural light in.
Along with wall to wall storage and brand new appliances, we installed a functional breakfast bar, which the kids love. This in itself has brought the family closer together since they are less disjointed and can spend more quality social together.
We’re sure you’ll agree that the finished result is stunning!
